Things in 3.

The past week has been a wild one..

1). Work. After some serious re-stacking, I am the proud education coordinator of not 2 medicine units, but 5! My work as almost tripled! Ah. Lots of fellow work buddies are back into staffing (i.e. bedside care/demotion (or promotion — pending on how I’m currently looking at it)) or unsure of their job status, and the remaining of us have picked up their units. It’s a tough bunch of info to swallow. I’m trying to be positive, but it’s a doozy for sure! Change goes into effect August 22, bring on FY12 baby!

2). School. Oofta. I applied for a few schools back in March+April, because the wedding was creeping up and I had just assumed 1). it was really an after thought. I didn’t have to take the GRE because my essay (thanks Sundeep!) rocked and I had a stellar resume ..my undergrad grades on the other hand were horrid, and I honestly thought I wouldn’t get in because they were so bad. So I told a couple of people I was thinking about it, applied, and moved on to other things. WELL, well, well … I got in to St. Xavier University. A cute little Jesuit university (much like my alma mater, MU) located in the burbs. After December 2013 I should have my MS in Nursing with a specialty in “Clinical Leadership.” The first year is online, and the second 1.5 years is clinical based. I start August 22nd (as in 2 weeks from tomorrow..) and will be taking 6 credits this fall — which is awesome because of 1). I probably won’t be busy at all. AND, because I was such a studious undergraduate and achieved amazing grades — I’m on “probation” for the semester! When they told me, I didn’t even talk it through with Sundeep.. how will we afford school, I already have an exorbitant amount of school debt and refuse to take out another loan, yet I just signed me letter of intent without talking it through to anyone, and voila! school it is. So good-bye friends and socializing I’ve committed myself to being a serious student!

3). FRIENDS GETTING MARRIED. My sweetest friend ever got engaged this past weekend! Christine Wholey and her very handsome boyfriend of many years, Casey, finally are getting married. He flew out to New York Thursday and surprised her! They both flew back to Wisco for Adam + Laurie’s wedding Friday a.m. and kept the engagement on the DL thee entire day (and are still keeping it on the DL?!?)! Looking forward to next August for the Wholey-Haas wedding.

yikes. August has been a rager so far — looking forward to some peace + quiet here next week:
