35 days.

Soooooo.

Wedding-stressapalooza has BEGUN! Finally. I thought I was going to be wedding calm and collected forever, psych! Now begins the sleepless nights, wedding nightmares, and crazy, silly arguments. Lovely.

My life has become inundated with “to-do” lists. Seriously to-do lists …

there are 3 more of this kind right behind this lucky page.

I completely, whole-heartedly blame mother nature for this delightful change. It has been so frigid, that perhaps in my head I have been thinking “wow, it’s so cold, must have a lot of time seeing June is warm, and it’s, ya know, cold.” NOPE. It’s MAY, and in ONE month you’ll be sitting on your bed staring at your wedding dress, plucking your eyebrows thinking about how excited you are for your wedding in 5 DAYS.

I honestly was super organized in the beginning and for pretty much a whole year+, sort of fell off the train … we were in a serious “we have so much time until the wedding,” period that it was really hard to jump back on, and remotivate ourselves. I’ve been dropping STUFF left and right… important things like DESSERT. Originally, my mom was going to make a bunch of cheesecakes (make them into bite-size squares) + these yummy cookies she makes, but reality set in, “do I really want my super, already stressed out mom, making dessert for my wedding, and worrying about cream cheese and chocolate chips two days before my wedding….absolutely not.” So, instead here is how the first 3 hours of my work day went (remember how my work day goes…well instead of Starbucks twice….)..

Megan <oh shit. I need to actually figure out what desserts my guest will eat! I’m going to call all of the bakeries I’ve been meaning to call for a month now…”>

Bakery 1: You want 8 dozen cupcakes, a sheet cake, a topper and cheesecake squares — ma’m I’m sorry but there is no way we can do this for you, “June 18th, you said?” You should have done this sooner….

Megan <dammit!>

and then essentially every bakery after this lovely lady, said “seriously?” SO. guess what reception attendees as if the food + booze was not enough of a gift for you, your belly’s will have to go hungry and buttery-goodness deprived. Just to reiterate how awesome of a bride I am, we had a work pot-luck today and I was rattling off my bakery tales and my friend, Katie, nearly spewed corn salsa out of her mouth — “MEG! You didn’t order your desserts yet! That should have been done awhile ago, oh no!”

All-in-all. Things will work out, I think have a few back-up options ….

To be continued..
